Nomos S.p.A.. is a company active since 2001 in the field of refrigeration. More specifically, Nomos, has developed a technology called Passive Refrigeration or “PRS” that allows transportation and storage in a controlled temperature and humidity environment, of all perishable food such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. PRS allows food to be stored fresh and in perfect condition for up to 30 days while saving roughly 50% of energy. Nomos is based in Vimercate (MB).

Principia Fund is the first fund to invest in Italian research companies that aim to transfer the findings of scientific research to industry.
The fund is managed by Quantica SGR, an asset management company part owned by the management team. The other shareholders are the CNR - National Research Council and two university research consortiums comprising more than 40 universities (INSTM - Consortium of Italian Universities for Science and Technology of Materials and CSGI - Inter-university Consortium for the Development of Large Interphase Systems). Quantica SGR has its head offices in Milan.
